Marcia Ling, Office Leader
Marcia is a native of Illinois – she grew up in north central Illinois, lived in the Chicago suburbs and also downstate, before coming to Florida. Her arrival in Florida in 2002 was the beginning of a second career in tax preparation. Her prior experience was in banking, lending, and brokerage.
She came to Buelow Tax Service in 2011 as part of a transition. Although most of her duties managing the office keep her busy, Marcia does retain a few tax clients. Her love for working with numbers allows her to continue using that strength to help her clients discover and receive all they are entitled to on their tax returns in the form of deductions, credits, etc.
She enjoys traveling with her husband, Cy; and special interests include her grandchildren, downhill skiing, bridge, church choir, golf, and reading.
Virginia Clayton, Tax Consultant
Virginia has been a member of the Buelow family for 35 years! She started doing taxes with Dale in 1975. Virginia earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Buffalo in New York, where she grew up. Prior to coming to Florida, she worked in public accounting with a CPA firm in Aurora, New York for nine years.
Virginia feels that many of her clients are old friends, and we’re sure that many of them feel the same way about Virginia.
Maryanne Hood, E.A., Tax Consultant
Maryanne originates from Hempstead, New York, and graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelor of Arts in Bilingual Education. She worked for the US Postal Service for 20 years in various locations around the country including Washington D.C. and Tampa, which brought her to Florida for the first time in 1978. After retiring from the Postal Service, she returned to Florida in 1995 and became a member of the Buelow Team in 1997. Maryanne loves her job here because she enjoys helping people and her patience and personality assist many of her clients through what is often a dreaded time of the year.
When not working at the office, she volunteers her time at St. Vincent DePaul and plays “mom” to her two dogs, Pebbles and BJ. She also enjoys doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku.
Al Gagnon, E.A., Tax Consultant
Al comes to us from Massachusetts, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Finance. He was employed by a Fortune 500 bank in Boston for twenty years, where he worked as an Estate and Trust Officer. He is also a graduate of the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University and focused on trust taxes and administration for his bank clients. Al came to Florida and joined the Buelow Team in 1996.
Although he is usually the first one in the office each morning, Al does enjoy traveling and playing cards with friends around the pool in his free time.
Don Coovert, CPA, Tax Consultant
Don started life in Muncie, Indiana. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Ball State University and a Masters of Accounting at Indiana University. He has worked as a Director of Tax for a coal company, managed the Tax Audit Division for the Indiana State Tax Commission, and served as President of a tax consulting firm. He has also served both as Chairman and on the Executive Committee of the Board of Taxpayer’s Federation of Illinois. Don moved to Florida in 1996 and joined the Buelow Team in 2002.
In the off season, Don enjoys the quiet life of the outdoors, spending much of his time in the Canadian wilderness. He also enjoys spending time with his 8 children and 20 grandchildren.
Jack Anderson, Tax Consultant
Jack is a native of Connecticut and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Boston University. He enjoyed a 35 year career working in accounting and finance as a CPA, which included serving as Chief Financial Officer for several different computer technology companies in New England and California. Jack has added his vast experience and talents to the Buelow Team since 2006.
Jack works hard to understand all the potential tax issues as they relate to each individual client and then make recommendations to optimize their present and future tax situation. He enjoys finding opportunities to improve his clients overall financial situation.
Ken Kondel, E.A., Tax Consultant
Ken has been a member of the Buelow Team for seven years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences from Florida International University. He is a long time Florida resident and spent 25 years working as an Environmental Scientist for a local company.
In his spare time, Ken enjoys fishing and always loves a good joke, especially if it is about a fish that was, “This big”.
Kevin Gosse, E.A., Tax Consultant
Kevin hails from Wisconsin, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before relocating to Florida in 2002, he had spent twelve years entertaining his love of nature operating his own business growing certified organic greenhouse tomatoes.
Kevin joined the Buelow team in January 2010 after attending Buelow Tax School. Kevin’s business experience gives him a special focus on servicing and the needs of our clients. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, biking and is teaching himself Russian.
Linda Aloisi, E.A., Tax Consultant
Linda has been a tax consultant for over 19 years of which seven were spent working as the tax specialist at a CPA firm. Having earned her Enrolled Agent certification 16 years ago, she brings a solid background and wealth of knowledge with her to serve the needs of her clients. In addition to her duties as a tax consultant, she also acts as head of the Accounting Department and is in her second year as a member of the Buelow Team.
A native of Massachusetts, Linda moved to Florida from Mexico in 1999 with her husband, John, who she has been happily married to for 28 years. They have two children and two grandchildren and in her free time, she enjoys playing golf and sailing.
Marilyn Reid, Tax Consultant
Marilyn started working in taxes in 2001, after taking the H&R Block Tax Course. She started with Buelow Tax Service in 2006 as an already seasoned tax consultant. In 2007 she became Licensed in Health Insurance for the State of Florida. When not working on her tax business, she is an Independent Career Agent with United Healthcare, specializing in Medicare Planning.
She attended Mt. San Antonio College in California before starting a 29 year career in the airline industry as a Flight Attendant, where she met her husband Bill. He also worked for a major airline as a pilot and retired in 1995. Both were based out of New York.
Marilyn and Bill moved to Florida from the Northeast in 1988. They both enjoy playing golf and tennis and traveling in their RV around the country whenever they have time.
Janet Shriver, Client Experience Manager
Janet was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois, where she attended Aurora University earning her Certificate of Business Management. She has been with the Buelow Team for 18 years. In addition to the normal duties of Office Manager, Janet takes pride in duties as Network Administrator and keeping all of the Buelow Staff equipped with the latest technology.
Janet and her husband, Don, came to Florida in 1992, have been married for 29 years, and have raised three successful children. They are blessed with seven grandchildren. In her spare time, Janet likes to follow baseball, especially the career of her grandson, as he is a minor league pitcher.
Dawn Dixon, Customer Service Representative
Dawn is originally from Michigan. She lived in North Carolina for 3 years before moving to Florida in 2010. Dawn has been working as an Administrative Assistant for over 15 years. She joined Buelow Tax Service in 2012.
Dawn and her husband David have been happily married for 12 years and have 3 amazing children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and soaking up the sun at the many Florida beaches.
Sandra Stewart, Customer Service Representative
Sandra has slowly been working her way south over the course of her life, arriving in Florida in 2003 and joining the Buelow Team in 2009. Originally from Ontario, Canada, she lived in Michigan for 16 years, where she became a US citizen. Sandy has a diploma in Business Administration from Bryan & Stratton Business Institute in Buffalo, New York, and spent 25 years working as an Executive Administrative Assistant for a fortune 500 company.
Sandy and her husband, Brian, have been happily married for 26 years, which brought them three children and four beautiful grandchildren. Sandy loves her job and enjoys the interaction with the clients, answering their questions, and making popcorn. In her spare time, she likes to play golf and volunteer for Hospice Care.
Penny DeClerico, Tax Return Assembly
Penny is a third generation Floridian. She grew up in Sarasota and attended Patricia Stevens College, an all girls’ college in Tampa, FL. In 1982 she started with a brand new CPA firm in Sarasota, working for them for eleven years. In 1993 she moved to Venice and worked for another CPA firm until 2003. Since 2003 she has just worked during tax season. She joined Buelow Tax Service in 2013.
Penny and her late husband of 39 years have two children, and three grandsons. When not cheering on the sidelines, she enjoys horseback trail riding, her English Bulldog, and spending time with her “Steel Magnolia” girlfriends. She is also an honorary member of the Vietnam Veterans Assoc., Chapter #1037.
Bill Reid, Tax Return Handout
Bill Reid was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and obtained a degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the R.A.E. Technical College in Farnborough, U. K. and London University. He has enjoyed an airline career as a Flight Engineer and then as a Pilot based in Canada, the United Kingdom, Lebanon, and since 1964 in the United States, mostly flying overseas flights.
He joined the Buelow Group in 2013 after attending H&R Block Tax Training in 2010. In his spare time he enjoys tennis, golf and sailing.
